I'm Maranda Nicole Kirkpatrick,
But you can call me Niki!
I was born and raised in Conyers, Georgia and I can actually say I love my hometown. I will be 20 years old this coming December and I'm currently taking a 9 month program to become an Esthetician. In April of 2012, I will be marrying the man of my dreams.
He's my best friend, he's my soul mate and he's my entire heart.
This is Derrick!
Derrick joined the United States Army February 1, 2011. He left for BCT (Basic Combat Training) on May 9th to go to Fort Leanord wood, Missouri and he will graduate on July 21, 2011. On the 25th of July, he will continue on to AIT school which will take place in Fort Rucker, Alabama. We do not yet know where his duty station is going to be, but I'm very happy to say that he is already saying "we are going to love the military life!"
...I guess we'll have to wait and see!
Derrick and I pretty much both grew up in Georgia our entire lives. Leaving our family and friends behind is going to be one of the hardest things for the both of us, but in order to start our own life together, we have to make sacrifices.
Regardless of where we may be stationed, the purpose of having a blog is to keep our family and friends updated with stories and pictures that we come across in the near future. I look forward to seeing how this turns out!
